Careful with your data

Privacy statement

When you book with us or get in touch, you share a few personal details. Here you can read which ones, what we use them for and what your rights are.

Who we are

This privacy statement applies to Kasteel Bijstervelt B.V., trading as Brasserie Jacob van Bijstervelt, Montfortlaan 12, 5688 NM Oirschot, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 87577682, part of the Lievergoed Collectie. We are responsible for the personal data you share with us through this website.

When you book

For a booking we ask for your first name, last name, phone number and email address, as well as the date, the time and the number of guests. In the notes field you can add something yourself, such as an allergy or a dietary requirement; we only use that to take it into account during your visit.

We use these details to record and confirm your booking and to reach you if anything changes. Your booking is stored in our booking system Guestplan, which processes the data on our behalf. The website itself stores nothing.

When you get in touch

When you send the contact form, your name, email address, phone number (if you fill it in) and message go through our email service Resend to our mailbox at Microsoft 365. The website itself stores nothing. If you email or call us, we only use your details to answer your question.

Cookies

When you first visit our site, we ask whether we may place cookies for statistics and for marketing. If you say no, we only place what the site needs to work. Google then still receives anonymous signals without cookies, for example that a page was viewed, so it can give us an estimate of the number of visitors. These signals cannot be linked to you.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, we delete the cookies of those parties. These are the cookies we use:

  • Google Analytics 4 · Statistics

Counting visits and recognising return visits, so we can see which pages are read.

_ga, _ga_* · kept for 2 years

  • Google Ads · Marketing

Measuring whether a booking followed a click on our Google advert.

    _gcl_au, _gcl_aw · kept for 90 days

  • Meta Pixel · Marketing

Measuring whether visitors come through our adverts on Facebook and Instagram, and targeting those adverts.

_fbp, _fbc · kept for 90 days

  • Brasserie Jacob van Bijstervelt · Necessary

Remembers your cookie choice, so we don’t ask again on every visit.

    jvb-cookiekeuze· kept for 12 months

Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta process this data as separate parties. Meta may link it to your own Facebook or Instagram account. For Google there is also the Google opt-out; for Meta, you change your ad preferences in your account.

The map on the contact page comes from Google Maps and only loads when you click on it; from that moment Google’s privacy policy applies, and Google may place cookies. If you don’t want that, use the link to Google Maps below it, or the address above.

This website is hosted by Vercel. For security and to keep the site running, Vercel temporarily records technical data, such as your IP address. Vercel is an American company, so this data may also be processed outside the European Union, with the safeguards the law requires for this.

How long we keep your data

No longer than needed for your booking or your question, and for what the law requires of us. We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone other than the parties above.

Your rights

You can always ask which personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to its use. To do so, send an email to info@kasteelbijstervelt.nl or call +31 (0) 73 790 0099. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
